[Dear Voter Friends:
Greetings!
Given that the power of local mayors is limited, many policies—especially those concerning the fundamental interests of the people and major authorities such as direct referendums and recall rights—are constrained by provincial or federal laws. Many large-scale projects, particularly those involving natural resources, such as fishing, fish farming, building large ranches, constructing world-class skyscrapers, and so on, also require approval from higher levels of government. Due to the long-standing bureaucratic practices stemming from federal or provincial laws, it is difficult for the current government to adapt and keep pace with the times on its own. Therefore, we must simultaneously—or even primarily—compete for provincial and federal governing power. This necessitates the establishment of our political party organization—the Justice and Science Party (please refer to the Party Platform and Party Constitution for details).
We will treat local mayoral and councilor elections as practice, and the promotion of the Party’s scientific platform and the awakening of the public as theory. In this way, we combine theory with practice, unite from top to bottom with one heart and one mind, advance synchronously, and accomplish everything in one decisive effort. We warmly invite everyone to actively join us, regardless of region or identity. Everyone is our comrade, comrade-in-arms, family member, and mentor!
In accordance with the organizational structure and administrative procedures of the municipal government, and in order to efficiently implement our exceptionally beneficial scientific plans in the future, we will need many like-minded individuals to run for council positions or to prepare to serve as administrative officials in various government departments.
I , Why should we candidates unite as one team and run for election together?
1. Government is, by nature, the common agent of all citizens, entrusted through elections by the people as a whole. Therefore, it should embody unity and cooperation. Only by working together can elected representatives serve the people wholeheartedly, implement policies efficiently on the basis of science and public consensus, and achieve effective results. If candidates campaign separately and promote conflicting positions, it becomes difficult to earn public trust and may cause voters to doubt the future effectiveness and efficiency of governance.
2. One reason Canadian law does not require local candidates to run under party banners is to reduce divisions in policy positions that could create conflict among voters and hinder governance after the election. Since every level of government serves as an agent of all citizens, and every political group claims to work for the common good, public representatives should reflect the wishes of the overwhelming majority. Many fundamental aspirations can be shared by the public or become the basis of consensus, such as democratic participation, economic opportunity, equality, dignity, and prosperity. Candidates should therefore focus on presenting their methods for achieving these goals, demonstrating whether their ideas are practical, consistent with natural laws, supported by public interests, scientifically sound, innovative, and accompanied by strong personal character and integrity. In this view, candidates could appear together and engage in friendly competition rather than adversarial party conflict.
Such an approach could inspire greater enthusiasm for elections, increase voter participation, and encourage a more constructive form of democracy. It would help shift attention away from hostility and toward solutions, public service, and the common good.
3. This is also essential for social harmony and public well-being. Human beings are intelligent social creatures. Much of our fulfillment comes from communication, learning, cooperation, mutual assistance, and mutual respect. Even when alone, people are enriched through indirect interaction with others—through art, literature, film, technology, and culture. Healthy societies are built upon positive values such as science, reason, compassion, justice, and goodwill rather than deception, cruelty, indifference, or selfishness.
Promoting harmony among citizens as though they were members of one extended family contributes to health, wisdom, compassion, and longevity. Therefore, even during the election campaign, candidates should set an example of unity, cooperation, and respect. By working together and engaging with residents sincerely, public servants can strengthen trust and help realize the ideal of a community united in spirit and purpose.
4. Representatives should avoid unnecessary conflicts of interest between districts. While elected officials represent their constituencies, they should not advocate only narrow local interests. Electoral districts exist for practical representation, not to create opposition between communities. Nature itself functions as an interconnected whole, and prosperity is often shared. The success of one area can benefit others, while difficulties in one place can affect neighboring communities. Democratic governance should therefore balance local representation with the broader public interest.
Under democratic principles, majority decisions should be respected while ensuring that minorities retain fundamental protections and opportunities to participate, persuade, and become future majorities. Democracy functions best when every citizen has both a voice and a fair opportunity to influence public decisions.
Accordingly, candidates can remain united during the campaign without undermining the interests of any district. In fact, viewing the city as a whole often allows communities to make better use of local advantages, maximize benefits, reduce costs, and ensure that prosperity is shared by all residents.
5. Even when several candidates compete for the same position, I welcome friendly participation from my opponents. I believe in openness, fairness, and public judgment. If others adopt ideas from our platform, voters can evaluate all candidates according to their character, integrity, and ability. Although I recognize the challenges that members of minority communities may sometimes face, I would still be satisfied if those elected successfully implemented sound and practical policies that benefit the public. In that case, my husband and I would feel that our aspirations had been fulfilled, and we would continue contributing to the community as ordinary citizens.
II. After We Are Elected: How Can We Effectively Exercise Administrative Authority and Make the Greatest Contribution to the Public?
Although Canada’s federal and provincial governments operate under parliamentary systems, our municipality follows a model in which the council makes decisions and a Chief Administrative Officer manages administration. The mayor serves as an equal member of council alongside councillors, all of whom are entrusted by the people and should work together in service of the public.
1. Since the mayor and councillors on our team share a common platform, we can generally work together in unity and implement agreed policies efficiently through cooperation with the Chief Administrative Officer.
2. If our team holds a majority of council seats, the principle of majority rule will enable us to advance our program through normal democratic procedures.
3. Even when significant opposition exists, we support open meetings and opportunities for public participation. Citizens attending in person or online should be able to present their views, receive responses from councillors, and observe public votes conducted transparently.
4. Citizens who disagree with council decisions should have opportunities to propose initiatives or request public review through democratic procedures established under applicable laws.
5. Concerns that greater public participation might conflict with existing governmental structures can be addressed through constitutional, legal, and democratic principles. Popular sovereignty, public accountability, broad participation, and transparent governance are important democratic values that can strengthen trust and improve decision-making.
For these reasons, wider citizen participation can contribute to both effective governance and public confidence. Modern technology can make participation easier, reduce unnecessary conflict, and help governments better understand public opinion.
III. Will Candidates and Councillors Lose Interest If More Power Is Returned to the People?
Some candidates and public officials may worry that greater citizen participation could reduce the appeal of holding office. We view the matter differently.
Human beings naturally possess empathy, cooperation, and concern for others. Public service should be seen not primarily as a source of authority, but as an opportunity to contribute to society and improve the common good.
Allowing citizens a meaningful role in public decision-making can increase collective wisdom while reducing unnecessary burdens on elected officials. When citizens trust that their representatives are acting fairly and responsibly, there is often less need for constant conflict and fewer challenges to legitimate decisions.
Trust between citizens and their representatives encourages cooperation, civic engagement, and support for public initiatives. Communities themselves can often help resolve disagreements through dialogue and mutual understanding.
In this way, elected officials can serve with integrity, earn public respect, and help create conditions that support economic development, innovation, and social well-being.
If public confidence remains strong, elected officials may continue to enjoy support over multiple election cycles because voters are satisfied with effective and trustworthy governance.
Regardless of future political outcomes, I hope eventually to return to my country of origin to care for my aging parents and fulfill my family responsibilities.
We hope this election will demonstrate to people around the world, including those in our country of origin, that elections in Fort Erie, Canada, need not be characterized by hostility, personal attacks, exclusion, or superficial political spectacle. Instead, they can provide opportunities for talented and capable individuals to serve the public. In this vision, genuine democracy can create a society that is more prosperous, more just, and more fulfilling for its citizens. Its success would be visible through the well-being, health, happiness, and vitality of everyday life.
Therefore, we sincerely invite everyone to consider running for office or joining our campaign team. Let mayoral candidates and council candidates learn from one another, exchange ideas, discuss policies, build consensus, and develop a shared platform for governance. By campaigning together and presenting our ideas openly to voters, we can demonstrate sincerity, competence, and a commitment to serving the people. In doing so, we can benefit our city and provide a positive example to communities around the world.
If that day comes, I will regard the effort as honorable regardless of the outcome, and I will have no regrets.
Therefore, we sincerely invite you to actively register and join our campaign team. By pooling our wisdom and efforts, we will surely unite and succeed.
Please join us and leave your contact information (email address and phone number), if you are willing. This website has implemented information confidentiality measures, so please rest assured!
Sincerely!
Thank you!
